So, it just hit me that it's September. Yikes! Despite the 90-degree heat, I saw the leaves changing on a little tree at our apartment complex. Since I'm just now getting my blog going, I thought it'd be fun to detail all the fun things Owen and I did this summer. We'll start with June 6 . . . which happens to be the day I attended my first big-deal country concert (if you don't count The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band that I saw once upon a time in an outdoor amphitheater).

My first post!
I've avoided blogging as long as I could. You see, I'm a bit old school. Even though I know more about technology than a lot of gals, I am a traditionalist in many ways. I like paper.
I still remember my first diary. I was SO excited about it. Remember the ones with a little padlock? That was the best when you were 10. Mine had a blue, plastic cover with 3 balloons with one yellow balloon protruding on the right corner. It said "My Diary" in script font. I loved it.
And, not only do I like paper, but I am also very, very nostalgic. In fact, my most memorable diary entry was one meant for my family should I die young. Not kidding. I imagined that my distraught parents would open my diary (with the tiny key I'd hidden), and read through my thoughts and find that I had written something just for them. I was a lot sweeter when I was little.
Starting this "Sarah D" blog has been a bit tough because I journaled from "My Diary" all through college. And then I stopped. I have really wanted to start journaling again, but I have hit a block. I was afraid that if I started blogging, I wouldn't start journaling on paper again. But, my hope is to get my writing back on track...and maybe write some lighter-hearted entries!
Narrowing my blog to just a few topics seemed really hard...and not at all like me. So, this blog is about a little bit of everything...and the many (sometimes contrasting) interests I have.
